Nice one!
1. Not a Toro
2. Not New
3. He could have bought it, used, in January of this year, so that could be technically true..but he is implying he bought it NEW in January of this year..which is a lie.

It's an Ariens Compact 24 from 2008, 2009 or 2010.
It probably sold for about $650 when it was brand new..
Right now, its not worth anymore than $300 where I live..tack on the extra $100 for the area where it lives, (Washington DC suburbs) and its worth maybe $400 tops..

He could easily make $300 to $400 is he was honest about it. and set a reasonable price..But the ridiculous way the ad is written, he will never sell it..

There's a saying on a old machinery site I belong to: even with the item right in front of the seller, he's probably wrong about everything except what he thinks it's worth.

Saw another ad on our Cumberland Valley craigslist a couple months ago advertising a Toro 521. Ad said it had a Briggs engine on it. Emailed and set him straight. Corrected ad comes up and is advertised as a 521 and then says it has 26" swath. I let it go. Sometimes you just have to grin and admit defeat.
It's still on craigslist. Here's the ad.

My 3521 was 20.5" wide and 17" high so he has the height wrong too.

I see a lot of blowers marked wrong. A lot of the old Ariens are marked as 26" wide over here. I even see some idiots who upload the wrong picture and never even notice.

I have to give the guy credit maybe when he took the picture he was thinking about the toro push mower in the background! But that is pretty funny.
