Default Knock... Knock !

Hi there, another Canadian poking his head in the door. I've been looking through the forum, and it's nice to see an active group of people getting involved in the threads.

I will be going to the proper area in the forum to post my request, but as I said, this looks to be a great site.

My own snow blower, (down right now) is an old 1972 Ariens HM80 8 hp Tecumseh 24" cut. The engine has never been torn apart from day 1, and up until a couple of weeks ago, neither had the blower. I'm scouting around locally for a new or used Bearing Housing for the drive plate (cracked right across the bottom). Heck, it's only 39 years old !

In the mean time, I had borrowed a neighbor's 11 hp Craftsman 30" snow blower (something I would not normally do), because of the snow we have had, and the Remote cable for the chute broke as I was using the machine (original cable). I'm a firm believer in "you borrow it....you break it....you fix it, or replace it." So now I'm looking around for one of those too.

Sorry for being so long-winded....my excuse, is that I grew up in a family of women !!

I know the feeling......we didn't get hardly any at all, and then a couple of major dumps, and now, just a "dusting" every couple of days. If I didn't have two driveways, and a total distance of about 26o feet, I would just take the broom and sweep it off.

Welcome fields, glad you joined our forum. Don't worry about being long winded, or getting a word in edgewise here, we're all good listeners.

Wish more people had your philosophy on borrowing others equipment. Seems every time I lend something and it comes back missing something or broke, the attitude of the borrower is more like " why did you loan me something that was defective, I could have hurt myself".

Default Cable

Welcome to the forum

You didn't mention the model of Craftsman you're looking for the cable on so check out Sears first. If not there, be aware that I've looked for a couple for older ones and I found that Briggs and Stratton now makes the ones I was looking for. If you don't find it, post some pictures and the old part number and maybe someone here can help you out.
