I don't live too far from the City of Marquette about 900' above the city and Lake Superior in Sands Township. We get a lot of lake effect snow from Lake Superior. As the temperature has been getting warmer over time here, the lake effect snow has increased because there is less ice on the big lake, and more open water for the north wind to draw water up from the lake. We get between 10 and 30' of snow each year.
Snowblowing is my favorite winter activity now that I am retired, especially since I do it with a heated tractor with a front blower. I live on a dead end road in the boondocks so I don't have to worry about traffic while snowblowing. My favorite time to snowblow is at night in blizzardy conditions. If the snow blows back on my driveway, I get to blow it a second time!! My driveway is about 600 by 20 feet, so a walk behind was not an option.
