Please could someone help me? I have a simplicity 1080S Snowblower. I had to replace the auger belt and right after i used it it started pulling to either one side....its not so bad when its less than 4" but still its much harder to navigate it then before. Feels not like me machine anymore? Anyone have an idea what could have happened?
No broken shear pins on the augers? See if an auger spins freely with the machine stopped. If one does, then a shear pin is broken and the machine will pull to that side as it fails to pick up snow.
Does that machine have a solid axle and pinned wheels? If so, might you have had a wheel off and reinstalled it freewheeling? That, or low tire pressure are the only things I have found cause much of a pull . . .
No both pins are there and in the right holes so that is not the problem. I checked the pressure if tire by pushing down to feel how much pressure each tire has...it felt the same on both tires. Could it be wheel bearing??
If the axle is solid, both wheels will run the same speed regardless of the bearings . . . so not likely, unless something is so bad that the machine won't sit flat. To that end, do both skids hit the ground evenly and at the same time when on a flat surface?
Alex, Unless you have had your hands or feet calibrated recently, I would put a gauge on those tires and check the tire pressure. Check, don't guess. You would hate to tear into that machine to find out it was just a tire pressure problem, Rite??
After that, check your skid height. Does your machine have a locking differential ?? Or wheels that can be pinned or free wheel??
Did you have to split the machine in half to replace the belt? If so, perhaps the two halves the machine aren't quite aligned right, after re-assembly? Maybe the bucket is tilted to one side. Are both of the bucket's skid shoes contacting the ground, and does the bucket look level?
