30" Platinum

Hi all, my first post here! I am preparing to buy a 30" Ariens platinum either used or new. There is a local guy selling a 2015 model for about $1200, slightly used, I am considering. I read an article somewhere online that the 30" platinum's had problems with the auto turn in 2015 and it was fixed in 2016. Is this true? If true I will not get the 2015. I also can't seem to figure out the upgrades from 2015 through 2018 for each year. Does anyone know if the 2018 will have some amazing features that is worth paying full price for? In general how much does Ariens upgrade each year? Maybe I should wait for 2018 models, any ideas on when specs will be released?

from what I remember the issue with the auto turn was not the auto turn itself but the skid shoes they used added too much drag when one hit the pavement and the other did not causing it to turn unexpectedly, From my understanding those who had issues got the newer poly skids they now put on them which don't cause as much drag. They also have a video on setting up the snowblower to make sure it's all level so the auto turn works right so if you find a real good deal on a 2015 you may have to get the new skds but once you get it all setup right it should be fine.

Sno-Tek Modded, 15"X-Track tires (Now has same X-Track tires but 13"x4" for better fit), 254cc engine LED light and hand warmers.
Snapper 6/22 sold but not forgotten. Was my first.
Ariens ST1027LE workhorse and going strong.
New 2017 Ariens Deluxe completely rebuilt after losing a fight with a forklift.
