General Ariens Question: Possible Chute Adjustment?

Hi all, I purchased a used Ariens 1124 Pro version from a dealership this fall. (24" - Tecumseh 11.5HP). They no longer make the Pro in 24". This is the first time I have used it. We had about 10" of snow today. What I found was when I was blowing snow to the left, it was great. Steady stream being pushed out. When I was blowing snow the right, it seemed like the chute was almost misaligned a bit. A stream of snow looked like it was coming out in front of the chute (toward me). I know I can simply try to aviod blowing it to the right, but is this common? Is there any sort of chute adjustment I could try? I did try to play with the adjustments a bit but with no luck. It seemed more prevelenat when I the snow was deeper. Any advice?

That is strange because blowers usually blow better to the right because that is following the curve of the way the impeller spins. I am not really sure what to tell you, but maybe check the impeller fins and make sure none of them are bent.

Could have just been snow stuck to the side of the chute, causing snow to throw off at odd angles..I have had that happen to me sometimes, snow builds up and constricts the chute somewhat, and snow doesnt exit as neatly as it normally would..

I keep a stick handy, about 1x2" by 18", to scrape off the snow on the inside of the chute if it builds up..(make sure you turn the augers *off* before you scrape!)

and when im done for the day, I also use the stick, and a brush, to remove as much snow as possible from the machine before I store it back in the garage..the stick is handy for scraping snow off the auger and the inside of the bucket.
