Reverse speed

Hello,

I have a 1972 Ariens snow blower model # 910995. It has the disk drive transmission. Is there anyway to adjust the reverse gear to make it go a little faster?

The friction disc rides on a shaft so by moving that disc further from the center you increase the speed of the drive wheels. IF ... you increase the reverse speed you decrease all the forward speeds but you can do that if you so choose.

I don't remember off hand if you'd adjust the shifter longer or shorter but once you tip the machine up and pull that bottom cover off it should be pretty clear.
