Difference between the 30” 921040 & 921051

I am trying to make the best purchase decision at least for me. I have and am considering the Ariens 28 Sho with a 306cc engine but before I make a purchase, I want to be sure I have not overlooked a better purchase. So that gets to the 30” Sho which comes in two different flavors, last year’s 921040 and the so called new model 921051. Both are still available even if the 92040 is no longer being manufactured. Both of these machines us a 414cc engine.

Does anyone know the differences between those two 30” sho models?

Thanks-

EDIT: Found the differences! The 921040 uses the older style Ariens Logo. Otherwise the machines are identical.

they are not the same
the 051 has the relocated axle 2 inches forward they say it helps the auto turn work better
and the chute side to side control has been changed
I have the 2015 28 deluxe north east package with the 414cc with the orig axle much more downforce this way no issue with auto turn for me
Id worry about the 051 riding up on the snow with the new axle postion
many things to consider

THANK YOU, THANK YOU! Today I called Ariens and got noplace. So next I contacted a dealer because I wanted to know the reason for the change. He told me it was only the label which really didn't make sense. As I type there are both versions available and I was going to go with 51 rather than the 40. There are good deals for the 51 on Ebay, one being a showroom (new) for under 1600.

I think I will go with the 40! Thanks a bunch! What a rope a dope and even by Ariens.

Sad news! I can just picture my new machine flipping backwards when I install the protection cab that is now on my Bolens. And as to your 921037, I don’t even know what it is other than it has a big engine. Send a PM better describing it, age, usage condition and how could I forget, price.
