Armour Skids

Anyone here have any positive experience with Armour Skids/Shoes? I bought a ST28LE with Auto turn, although I am not totally happy with the Auto turn. I have heard that Armour Skids make a big improvement? Is this true? I want to order, but I live in Canada, and with exchange, they are about $80 delivered. I just want to make sure they won't be bookends in my basement.

I put them on an older Ariens (without autoturn) and they work great on my gravel driveway. Have you tried adjusting your autoturn per the instructions at the top of the page?

I couldn' t seem to find the instructions at the top of the page, maybe I am just not looking in the right place. However, I did readjust my blower to the video on You-Tube, done by an Ariens Tech. Don't get me wrong, the Auto-Turn isn't horrible like some stories I have read, I would just like to fine tune it a bit to see if I can make it better. And the Armour skids look pretty cool.

I have used the Armor Skids on an Ariens Platinum and Hyro Pro, both with the Auto-Turn. Makes a huge difference in the steering and tracking of the unit. I never had major problems with the Auto-Turn, but appreciated what the Armor Skids added. What I didn't appreciate was how much easier the bucket floated and it was a constant fight to keep it down. They are basically like skis, and skis ride on top of the snow, not through it.
