Auger bearings and ect for 1971 Ariens 24"

Decided to finally tackle the 1971 Ariens 24" and get it up and running.

I was originally going to get the original engine running but it just turned out to be problem after problem. So the next step was to put a big V-twin on it. Turned out that this was too much work. There was a local sale at my Horror Freight so I broke down and bought myself a Predator 212. Spent most of the day converting the machine over to accept the 212 which was pretty easy other than a few minor modifications, but after a test run, I noticed that the auger bearings sound pretty crunchy and was wondering if anyone knows where I can get replacements for both end bearings as well as the main impeller bearing. I would like to get this machine in perfect running condition.

Jacks small engines has these parts. You will need the model and serial number. The auger uses bronze bushings, not bearings, if it is a 10000 series, which was made in 1971.

I believe you're right with it being a 10000 series, sadly I do not have the model or the serial number that I can tell. The sticker which appears to have contained both of them has been wiped clean. It's a pretty common model, 24" 7HP Tecumseh, the auger bearing/bushing flanges are triangular shaped with 3 bolts, big heavy duty worm gear box.

Look for the frame model and serial stamped next to the left side handlebar mount on top along the rear side. It would be where the frame sticker normally would be.

That won't tell you the bucket info...but chances are the bucket is original and matched at the factory with the frame.

I'm in south-eastern most NY, but maybe you wouldn't object to shipping? I can provide a prepaid label for FedEx.

Awesome, thank you for this! The shear pins will definitely be useful, not just for this machine but my other one too.

As for the friction wheel, mine looks brand new. I was inside the transmission last night after doing an engine swap to make sure everything is functional and make a few adjustments.
