1978/79 Ariens 924026 - Rear Axle to Differential Question
I just replaced both of the bronze axle bushings on my 1978/79 Ariens 924026 snowblower and everything came apart and went back together easy enough but the one odd thing I noticed was that the differential gear is a bit sloppy on the axle. All the teeth on both sides of the axle and on the differential look ok (nothing broken or excessively worn) and it seemed pretty solid when I took it apart. I did totally clean everything and I am wondering if it normal to have some looseness to the axles to differential fit? The blower always works great and has plenty of drive to the wheels. The cost of a new axle and/or differential is really costly so I'm hoping this is ok.
