60s machine hub removal help needed

Model 10M6D. I need to replace the axle bushings, among other things. The wheels are bolted to triangular hubs. The left-hand hub has a zerk fitting and the right-hand one does not. The axle has one (that I can see) roll bin near the right-hand end. I don't see how to remove the hubs and take the axle out. The exploded parts diagrams are no help and all the videos I have found concern much newer machines that seem to have a different axle design. What do I do? Do I take off the hubcaps and pull the hubs off with a gear puller? Help!

OK. Pry off left hubcap and remove cotter pin. Voila.

A different question. I got a pair of new bushings, ID=3/4". Part number consistent with factory parts lists, consistent with parts for sale on-line, seems to be the right one. BUT, the axle won't go thru it. The axle seems to be one size up, maybe 1/32 bigger. How can this be?
