Ariens 32" idler spring replacement?

Hi... My first post here. I have a big ol' Ariens 32" Model 924042. The drive belt idler spring broke. I bought another spring. How do I get the new spring in there? I can see the old broken one dangling. I see the tag-end also dangling. But it's all close quarters. Anyone have any good info on how I can get in there? I'm a rooky at this but am gung-ho. I can take off the blower and the belly pan and get a view. What next? Thanks!

That's easy. But now I see the big drive pulley (about 12" diameter it seems) and the broken spring is dangling BEHIND it, closer to the motor. Is that pulley easy to remove? Seems like I'll have to. If it's easy to, then that will make replacing the spring easy. But otherwise it's a tight squeeze to get behind that.
