impeller angle

Just an observation in regards to the impeller angle differences between my 1961 (First series) and 1965 (10000 series). Any thoughts on pro's / cons on the design change?

1961 (First series):

1965 (10000 series):

Your 10,000 impeller looks bent. All impellers I have ever seen were flat unless bent. Usually just the tips bend, but in your case it looks like the whole thing bent back a bit. Are all the blades like that? My guess is it saw some use on gravel or something.

Please direct all snow blower questions to the forums and not to me with PMs.

Was just going to say the same thing as shryp. Looks bent. I had one impeller blade on a parts machine that looked like that, but the other 3 were straight.

Thanks for the confirmation on the bent blades, guys. I did noticed that the blades have a bend to them. But all 4 are equally and symmetrically bent so i thought it was by design. Also, only one blade shows a sharp deformation (size of a dime at the tip) while the other 3 shows no signs of severe drama, just typical wear and tear. Wondering how this came about.
