Ariens 1000 series name plate

Does anyone know where to find an Ariens namplate for the 1000 series that isn't cracked or broke? This is the panel that goes between the handle bars.

I tried looking on ebay but found nothing.

I'll keep my eye out on craigslist as well.

If I find one, what is a good price? $10?

Thanks,

Usually see one or two on the Bay. Keep watching and one will show up. Cost..between 10-20 bucks. MH

Look in the yellowpages under "lawnmower repair" to see if you can find a local "lawnmower junkyard"..If its a large enough dealer, they will often have a stash of old snowblowers lying around as well.

On The Very Early 10000 series Machines, that part was Much Thicker and Stronger. I have one of those, but it needs repaint and decals. I have plenty of the Thinner Tin Ones with the Ariens Logo, but No Perfect Ones. PM ONLY if interested.

Thanks Jackmels. I guess I am looking for the thinner model with the raised letters and gear logo.

Do you happen to have any that aren't cracked? I don't mind painting.

For what it's worth, every single "thinner" one I've seen in the used market have cracks.

You are probably right. I will keep my eye out for one like this that sold on ebay last month.

I have one of the older, heavier and flat ones. I sanded it down and repainted it in Krylon dove white. Then I bought new decals from clickitandstickit.com. The problem with the repainting the newer ones is that the Ariens name is embossed on there. Not sure how the decals would line up with raised tin on the embossed area if you were to sand it all down and try and start fresh.
I would think seriously about getting that old one from jackmels, you can make it perfect with new paint and decals and the heavier one will not dent and bend like the new thin ones do. That's why you can't find a good newer one, they are are all dented up.
