Which Ariens?

We have been debating between 2 Ariens Models:

Ariens Deluxe Series 2-Stage 30 in. Gas Snow Blower 921013

and

Ariens Platinum Series 2-Stage 30 in. Gas Snow Blower 921018

We are thinking with the platinum for $100 more is the way to go. Bigger motor, bigger throw, heated grips etc.. Does anyone have similar models to these?

hey snowman, go with the bigger engine. my john deere 30" wide bucket is simular to the platinum ariens but with a 4 blade impellar, and the 342cc briggs snow series max engine.I rarely use the heated grips though. how much snow you going to be blowing? in a lot of smaller /drier snow falls, i make quick rows with my 4' shovel/pusher then knock the rows out with the 2 stager, its a lot quicker for me.the 342cc engine rarely drags down unless i load the bucket full of wet heavy slop.the 342 really is a good engine.

Thanks I think I will go with the 342 engine. We do get heavy snow, so I think this will be better suited for us.
