First snowblower: concerned about size

I posted this on the general forum but thought you Ariens users might be able to give me some additional insight.

I am a first time home owner looking to buy a snowblower. I have done a lot of research and was pretty well set to buy an Ariens 28 Deluxe, however, I got my hands on it today and it is a BEAST. I'm not too worried about operating it myself but if my wife ever had to use it if I was traveling I think she will struggle. More importantly, it will be a bear to store.

I also looked at the compact 24 which I really like but I am concerned about the pin lock differential. I was leaning toward the deluxe 28 because it is Ariens first model with the Auto turn.

I am intrigued to hear your opinions on wether the deluxe 28 is too big, if the compact 24 is easy enough to turn, and if you would suggest a different brand/ blower. One feature that is a must for me is a headlight as my road does not have any street lights.

Thanks for your input!
