Angry Parts $ increase

I was researching some parts pricing over the last week at JSE. I had written a bunch of prices down covering many models and parts, and at some point last night a 5% across the board increase went into effect for JSE Ariens parts. Your FRN($) is now worth .95 cents compared to yesterday, at least when it comes to buying Ariens replacement parts from JSE and I assume most every other dealer. This was probably an Ariens directive, at least from what I've noticed in the past.

Parts pricing (or devaluation of the USdollar) is out of control.

I don't know of many products that don't get and annual price increase. Spare parts are particularly susceptible to this because the cost of carrying inventory gets higher all the time. Inventory is an easy target for tax increases because no one will defend it when "at least it's not my own wallet."

The cost of manufacture, raw materials, capital equipment, warehousing and transportation does not sit still.

The industrial products I sell rose an average of 1.3% this year, and that was 90% because the cost of rare earth materials is climbing. The 5% does seem higher than most, so maybe that was the minimum the JSE's software allowed?

I worked for Chrysler for 7 years and the Second Largest Volvo Dealer in America for 3 years. We typically see part prices jump every quarter..
