1962 Ariens 10ML35 tire & chains question ?

I've got this bone stock Ariens 10ML35 that runs great. It needed a little attention to the fuel petcock shutoff (not shutting all the way) and pullstarter (not engaging and needed a new rope).
FWIW those pullstarters can be tweaked with some careful grinding on the throwout tooth pivot. This one is original and pretty worn on the outer teeth, but grinding the stop edge of the little tooth that flies out, let it fly out further and engage. This darn little engine just runs so good I want to throw some snow with it before spring hits.

one problem, it has the original solid tires and they are worn nearly smooth.

question- what options do I have for bolt on tires, preferably pneumatic- and what options for chains, for the existing tires ?

I found tires that may work on Ebay, what say you guys to these ?

these wheels are riveted together and part of the axle tube, correct ? so when changing them, he entire wheel/hub/tire/tube gets changed and pinned back on the axle ?

any advice or info welcome, thanks.

are the solid tires 12x3? they make chains for those

do you want to keep your axle but add hubs for regular ariens 3-hole tires and wheels?

the solid tires and wheels are a BEAR to remove from the axle, though.

the other alternative is to a parts machine 10,000 series and use its differential(if equippped)+axle+hubs+tires+wheels. Here's my old 10ML with a 10000 series diff/wheels/tires:

not without some custom work. i think the 10ML axle diameter is 3/4" and those ebay wheels are listed as 7/8." i don't think your axle has holes for the pins either? my 10ML solid tires/wheels were mounted to the axle using clips(the axle as grooves near the ends):

if you find some 3/4" wheels where the inner rim has a long enough shaft that you could trim to size, that might work.

I measured them and they are 3/4" i.d. as you said.

they are cotter pinned into the axle shaft on the outside- no snap ring groove like yours has.

am I right to assume that is the only thing holding the axle on is that outer cotter pin ? or is the axle tube also pinned or bolted to the axle inside the machine as well

it's outside and I didn't have time to flip it over and pull the bottom cover

I found tires on Ebay with rims that have a 3/4" axle shaft i.d. hole, and 5/16" dowel pin hole. I'd have to drill the cotter pin hole larger to size, or drill a new hole inboard to fit the tires. but not sure I want to spend $60 on tires. if the chains give good traction, I can get chains for less than half that price. what do you guys think about that ?
