Ariens ST24DLE when was this model first marketed?

Dear Snowblower Forum,

I have my eye on an Ariens ST24DLE, can you tell me when this model was first marketed and was the features on it the same as it are currently? (electric start, auto traction control etc)

Could this model have gone back 5-years ago? The model also goes by 92017 if that is helpful.

Also, what makes this a premium model, better motor or frame plus traction control?

Thanks from a newbie,

QuickRick

Rick,
you are missing a zero!
you probably mean model 920017.

The 920000 series began in 2008..so at best, the machine you are looking at is only 3 years old, or less..(It would be four years old this summer, if it was a 2008 model)

But there is not yet any record of a model 920017! the numbers havent reached that high yet! Are you sure it isnt a model 920007?

Also, there is no DLE in the 920000 series..hmmm..I think you might have the wrong model number..can you re-check that number?
ST24DLE does not match the model number you have..
I would guess you are looking at a 921000 series machine from the last 2 or 3 years..

I dont yet have a complete model number list for 2005 - 2011,
but here is what I have so far:

The Ariens 1960's and 1970's Sno-Thro info site.

(edit)

Ah! I think I solved it..
You are probably looking at a model 921017.
That is a ST24DLE model.
S= Sno
T = Thro
24 = 24" bucket
D = Differential
L = Light
E = Electric start

Im finding records that say the 921017 was a 2009, 2010 and 2011 model..So its either one, two or three years old.
(2011 models came out last summer and fall..)

Scot

Cool 921017 it is!

Thanks Scot for the feedback.

If this machine is what it's rumored to be, it will be a pretty good machine.

What I like about the DLE over the DL model is that traction control that disengages the inside turning wheel. This makes a heavy snowblower lighter at the end of a row and needs no triggers to actuate it.

I appreciate you knowledge,
