That Platinum model doesn't have AutoTurn. It has ATC (Automatic Traction Control). I think AutoTurn came out a year later. I have a Deluxe 28 with ATC. With that, there is a lever for the left wheel that when squeezed disengages the wheel to make turning easier.

Take a look at this link and there is a video from Ariens that discusses this Platinum model and ATC.

How much room do you have for storage? Ifs its not an issue I would go with the 28 deluxe. Ariens sells a plug and play kit ( hand warmers ) for the 28 for $100.00 maybe less in the USA that you can add later. I get drifts here so I bought the 28.

Garage
Please add your location to your profile. Where you are and what kind/how much snow you get would make a difference too.

What are you using it on, gravel or hard surface, how big a driveway ??

.
Make sure the windows are up before the snow plow goes by !!

$1,200 for a used '13 28 Deluxe?

Are you in US or Canada? (another reason to add location to your profile)

Just to give you and idea for comparison, I bought a used 20012/13 Deluxe 28 (original owner) with ATC and the skid shoes still had the original paint on the bottoms for $400. Pristine condition.

I bought my Ariens deluxe 28 off kijji Toronto ,same as craiglist for $800.00 also mint shape & added heated grips , melt buddy and dual led lights. This Ariens deluxe 28 is an impressive machine to say the least. There are great deals
out there if you check craigslist and buy off season. I have bought two Ariens snowblowers this summer and both were good buys. Here's pictures
of a Ariens 927le I picked up for $300.00 Canadian east of Toronto. Nice machine in mint shape with low hours.
