Auger gearcase halves leaking at the halves Ariens Sno-Thro ST926le

Auger gear-case halves leaking at the halves Ariens Sno-Thro ST926le

Hello all.
I have the above mentioned machine with approx 10 hours of use.
I was checking auger gears case lube condition and level end of last winter.
I found it to be almost empty.

I filled it with a synthetic gear lube and as it sat in the garage this past summer. I found that it leaks very slowly where the gear-halves come together.
All bolts are tight.

Any suggestions Please!!
Thanks in advance

Are you certain it's coming from the case split line? The 3 shaft seals are more common leak locations than the gasket. Synthetic seems to find a way to leak easier than old dinosaur oil.
Scotty will disagree with me, but if you weren't in the mood to tear it all apart, I'd consider replacing the oil with the OO grease that the newer models use. It's thin like applesauce, but less likely to leak.

Just to be clear it's zero, zero or 00 grease. If you're going to be heading to a parts store it's usually going to be a bit difficult getting someone to look it up unless you get the one guy who knows whats he's doing

I used to order it at Oreilly Auto parts, Prime line part No. 7-06612 but they may have dropped it.
Tractor supply still carries it as would most dealers that do lawn and garden equipment especially riding lawn mowers where it's very common for geared trans-axles. It's thicker than oil and thinner than grease so it flows well at lower temps and has all the additives for proper gear protection.
