Arien Snowblower 11.5 horsepower 28 worth is for $900?

Arien's Snowblower 11.5 horsepower 28' path with heated hand grips and electric start with 4 blade impeller and 16' Auger. This snowblower is like new condition. It's the 100 Anniversary Model, thinking it's built in 2005 with tecumseh that was still made in the USA

Thanks

$900 is on the high side..I would think $500 to $700 is more in the ballpark..
it's 10 years old..

I googled for stats on that model, and google brought up a virtually identical discussion from a year ago!

Garage
You might want to keep an eye on it. Might come down as he gets no action on it at $900.

There is one guy around here (MN/WI) with a really nice 32" Power Shift that he's had for sale all last winter and this one with no reduction. I'm curious if it's going to stay up over the summer and or be there this coming winter again.

Opps, I lied he's dropped down to $950 now. Used to be $1,100

Already told him that if he NEEDs to sell it and if I don't already have one, hit me up and I'll give him $700 for it. But as of right now, I'm passing it.

Agree - wait it out or another one reasonable will pop up......

It's amazing how many of these callbacks do occur - out of the complete blue to boot.

Do your homework, low ball the price, and then explain the reason and the rationale behind the low ball. At the end of the day, both sides have to leave the table believing that they got a good deal. One of the cardinal rules in sales is that "information is the key to the sale".

I paid $750 for a 4 year old 28 Pro model with tracks a couple weeks ago.
With almost no use on it. Keep looking. You'll find a deal.Just now coming into the season when it's a buyers market.

The best deals are had from people moving south where they have no use of a snowblower and need to dump the one they have.
Wait a few weeks when the housing market picks up for the spring buying season and you'll see them start to pop up.

All good advice. I don't know what it sold for new but my neighbor bought a new Deluxe 28 SHO for $1200 (plus tax) last November. He only got to use it once and he's moving soon so I'm buying it at his asking price of $800. So, even $700 sounds very high for a ten year old unit - especially if it has the aluminum gearbox (not sure what years had it) rather than the older or newer units that are heavier duty. I intend to post my 8 to 10 year old Craftsman 9 hp 26 inch for $450 to $500 in the fall and hope to get $400.
