Pre-932101 series Ariens: did someone swap out the bucket?

Another Craigslist listing where the bucket does not look right. Linked below is about a 1998-2000 series Ariens tractor with a much modern looking 2004+ era/style bucket.

I actually Googled "ST928LE Professional" and the bucket does not go with this tractor. The bucket also has a lot of wear....

This one, and the John Deere, both look fine to me..
This is a Pro-style bucket, looks right at home!

I'll dig into it and report back..

Well, I didnt find anything definitive, but there were two different 928LE's, made in the 1996 to 1999 timeframe, and the bucket style is a known 1990's Ariens Pro-series bucket..so I see no conflict and no reason to suspect its not the original bucket. Looks perfectly normal to me.

See post number 68 here for another machine:

I've got the "ST928LE" numbers translating to these 3 models on the Ariens website:

924101
924112
924329

However, a separate "ST928LE Professional" search is not kicking up anything on the Ariens website.

The first 3 numbers above have the old style, late 1980's 924 series bucket, which continued throughout the 1990's....

924101 is a ST928, but not a ST928LE:

I suspect your search is finding everything with ST928 in it..

LE's were sometimes labeled Pro series, and sometimes not, depending on the year. Its not completely consistant.

On the Ariens website, you have to put a space after ST928_LE to kick up the LE numbers. As in "ST928 (space) LE".....
......................................

Anyway, I stand corrected. Your linked machine above is from 2000 or so, and was present for about 3-4 years.

So from the late 1990's forward, they were using a totally different type bucket on the Pro models but not on the consumer models.

Then from about 2003-4 or so, the style of this Pro bucket was used in what is essentially the modern style bucket of the whole Ariens line.

Is this the bottom line to all of this.....
