What would be a reason for replacing tires on a HS of this vintage? Were the originals "worn out"?
I'd say two possibilities: wear or leaks.

I've also noticed that on older Honda or Yamaha snowblower tires if you set the pressure too high (spec is 8-10psi) they will distort badly. I have a wheeled HS828 with a tube in it, I added some air to it as it was flat, my digital pressure tester gauge won't register pressure until 7-8psi, and it won't read any pressure when I was done, so I thought it was good, next day I went to move the blower and found out that the tire had popped off the wheel on both beads (missing retaining rings) :sad2:.
Once they distort, there is no going back to save them, they're done. :plain:
They are made out a softer material for better grip is my guess and they are also very expensive.

Unfortunately you see a lot of wheel Honda blowers with over-inflated tires (which unfortunately translates to damaged tires :sad2:)
