Heck, Waverly is only a 4 and a half hour drive from Elgin. Call ahead and schedule a tour of the John Deere works in Waterloo.

I'm pretty much retired from the forum thing, but I check in every now and then.

I could have picked you up a Toro 3650 last week for $80...... I passed up on them since I haven't been able to sell any blowers this year. Have to many right now. I have a Power Clear - forget which model but has the handle operated chute control but no electric start. 6 HP I think? Put new scraper on it and still needs carb work because it starts hard - but runs great. I'd let it go for $150. I will be in eastern Iowa this weekend at my folks place if your interested I will drag it along. It's in like new condition and I think with a little tinkering you can get it starting easier. Shoot me a PM with your phone. I have a little Snapper 2 stroke also - but I think my neighbor is interested in that one. It's a little nicer than his Craftsman. Everything else I have are 2 stagers.....

EDIT -- Pretty sure it's this one 621QZE http://cedarrapids.craigslist.org/grd/5430685525.html << The dude is proud of that one!! :>/

I am deathly allergic to shovels!

I already have enough Toro versions of this model series, I've been looking for the Lawnboy 720 boxy one like this, but they don't come up too often. So thanks for the offer, but it's not what I'm looking for. I'm concentrating on the ones that came across my bench, as a small engine mechanic, before I retired from that line of work.

That isn't a bad thought, but I've been thru the Deere engine plant once already about 2 years ago. Maybe I'll have to see one of their other plants and take a slight detour to get the blower.
