Seller writing his ad: "I see a number 20 on the engine, I'll just go ahead and assume that means 20 horsepower"

It's approx 12hp.
It's a 2014 Platinum 30.
Three years old this summer. (2017 model year machines are being made right now)

A 2012 Platinum 30 sold for $1700..
2014 was probably similar, so this one has about a $200 discount from new.
Probably too expensive, especially for the middle of summer..

Scot

Sad thing is, some Tim the Tool Time sort of guy may come along not knowing any better and say wow, 20 HP, oh oh oh, gotta' have it not knowing any better.

I'm pretty much retired from the forum thing, but I check in every now and then.

The Tecumseh that was on my ST1032 had the number "8258" on it. It was *really* powerful...

~1994 Ariens 924084 (ST1032) "papa bear": restored, re-engined, real nice!
1991 Ariens 924050 (ST824) "mama bear"
Toro PowerCurve 1800 "baby bear"

Be alert! America needs more lerts.

I think LCT considers that engine to be a sub for 14hp. If you do the basic formula Torque x RPM/5252, you get 13.7...... I'm gonna list my 'burb on Craigs and say it has 8100 hp and see how much response I get

Garage
some of that error by sellers is caused by the decals themselves....BIG BOLD torque numbers on the decal, with quite small " ***torque" printed underneath.

24 " 1967? Ariens Sno thro
28 " Ariens Sno Tek
Toro CCR ss
1966 Gravely LI Walk behind with dog eater
