auger protection on a SS

Suppose to get some snow so I thought I'd run thru the manual for my new Toro 721 and realized it doesn't talk about shear pins or anything about auger protection.. How does that work on these? I'm not to worried, I've only had one shear pin break in 20 years on my MTD.

(As far as I know)
There is no "gearbox" to protect on a SS, that's why they do not have shear pins. If something gets stuck in there the engine would stall. or the belt break (likely the first one).

Direct drive with a belt and a moving idler pulley, it will stall or melt and break the belt
