Any More Brands Launching EFI?

Does anyone know if other brands plan to launch EFI blowers next fall?

At a landscape trade show in Boston a few months ago, the Ariens/Gravely folks told me that more EFI blowers were forthcoming from Ariens (they currently have 2 EFI models).

Just wondering if anyone may have inside info on what may be upcoming from other brands?

i would be interested in the EFI sales numbers thats what it depends on. if they are selling than i would think other brands would make them and it will start to become the standard.

EFI will start to take off when you can buy an efi blower for 1k or even less IMO.

Toro snow commander 7hp RTEK ...honda HS720 GC190 OHC
Toro ccr3650 6.5hp RTEK ....Ariens sno-tek 26" 208cc LCT
Ariens st824 924082 HMSK 80 ....Ariens path pro 136cc

I believe you're right. $1K is the magic number for widespread adoption of EFI.

For the next few years, I expect EFI will be a premium option for machines in the $2K range.

I wonder about a brand like Honda - which doesn't sell a blower for less than $2300, and pro machines.

Curious if they're feeling any market pressure to adopt EFI.

I'm also interested to know how Ariens did on sales of EFI this year.

yea im not sure why all machines 2k and up dont have EFI on them now.

its just alot of tech for a 1k or under machine today. you need a computer, air meter, injector(s) and fuel pump thats going to push the engine cost alone up to around the 1k mark

I wouldn't hold my breath on Honda jumping to EFI too soon, With dirt bikes they waited to see how other brands were accepted with it and got feedback before they went forward with EFI on the dirt bikes.

Sno-Tek Modded, 15"X-Track tires (Now has same X-Track tires but 13"x4" for better fit), 254cc engine LED light and hand warmers.
Snapper 6/22 sold but not forgotten. Was my first.
Ariens ST1027LE workhorse and going strong.
New 2017 Ariens Deluxe completely rebuilt after losing a fight with a forklift.

yea your right on that i know Kawasaki makes some efi small engines as well as kohler and some others. i wonder if we will get some contracted engines on snowblowers with efi manufacturers it seems like efi is more likely on 20hp engines and up not so much for 10hp engines.

Honda has a fuel-injected inverter generator, the EU7000iS, it uses the GX390 EFI engine. It looks like it came out in 2014. So they have it available on some of their small engines, at least (a 390cc is still a big "small" engine, of course).

Agreed that other manufacturers will probably keep an eye on how the Ariens EFI models sell, and whether this becomes a "spec sheet check-mark" kind of item. Like a cast-iron gearbox, serrated augers, etc. But I'd guess Ariens probably doesn't publish numbers on how different models sell, so other companies may not get a perfect sense of how they're selling.

Ariens 1024 Pro
Toro Power Clear 221QR
Toro Power Curve 1800

Yes, that's hard info to come by - likely closely guarded by Ariens.

When I was looking to purchase an EFI model last fall, 3 out of 4 dealers in my region said they wouldn't carry them. Hence, I'm guessing Ariens had limited distribution this year.

I wonder how successful sales were for Ariens, and what feedback they received from the market.

It seems most people on this forum who purchased EFI models were happy with them.

I have a 26hp zero turn mower that has a drinking problem. Looking to see if anyone made a F.I. conversion for small engines, I ran across this page: NanoEFI
Looks promising.
