Hoping The,Weatherman is Wrong

So the local weather guessers are predicting 5" - 10" of heavy wet snow and my machine is in the basement with the front end tore apart waiting on parts.

I love blowing snow, using the back up shovel, not so much. I have the parts for the impeller mod. Maybe I can find the time to do that and throw it back together. I don't think it would be worth it to put it back together for this wet stuff without the mod.

Fingers crossed

Just a few towns away luteplayer. Yea, I could live without the distraction of this late season storm. It's time to spend some quality time with Turbotax. The fact that the gravel driveway is naked and tender won't add to the joy.

Ah, Tax time. Turbo Tax is my second favorite thing...

Thankfully my drive is paved. I already did my taxes with freetaxusa online, my whopping $100 Maine refund just hit my account today. I don't know how we did it, but this is the first year I have filed a married joint return, and got about $100 from federal too.

It sounds like this latest event is going to be a broad mix of everything from rain >>heavy snow, depending upon elevation.

Just tried blowing the 8 inches of wet snow next to my driveway for interests sake last night....the snowblower did NOT like it haha. Coated the interior with ice quickly and the machine could barely throw the slush 10 feet.... Would be better off just driving through it. Hoping the weatherman is wrong also and its nice fluff I could snow blow properly!

A little south of the Mainer's forecast, but around Boston and central Massachusetts, the 3 major weather forecast sources are in disagreement on the pending storm

Local news says 3-6" . . . More like 3"

Weather channel says 12"

NWS says about 7-8"

I think the weather channel gets the 'hype' award this year, as they seem to be over predicting the snow totals on most of the storms for our area. They used to be more on the conservative side, and the local news guys were over the top, but now it seems to be the other way around.

I think the NWS is pretty good in terms of sensationalism while still offering a solid forecast.

Raining buckets here about 20 miles west of Boston . . . NO accumulation over night . . . 1" of slush. The weather channel forecast STILL says 5-8" of snow, but daytime temps of 36F . . . . . . not unless it gets about 10 degrees colder.

NH/ME ski areas are probably picking up a good amount though . . .
