Now that the season is winding down I'd be interested in any members experiences with the Ariens EFI machines, the Deluxe 30 and the Platinum 24 SHO. I've not talked to anyone locally or seen anything on here since they were first introduced. Have any of you?

Well look at it this way, if they had issues, we'd have heard about it by now.

Youre probably right. Have to wait till next year to see if the initial quality holds up.

There is at least one thread in the Ariens sub-forum about the EFI machines, this one is about the SHO 24:

Well that certainly was an interesting thread. Except for one defective machine from the factory, which Ariens replaced, the EFI system seems to be a hit. Can't wait to see what new machines next year brings!

Well it looks like they were a success. I'm hoping the other manufacturers go to EFI, sure would solve a lot of fuel problems.

Since they are so new, I think you will get some threads a few years out when engine problems develop and they can't be fixed with a screw driver and socket wrench. The owners of the machines will be relying on the dealers to address problems and the remedy will probably be to replace part of, or all of, the EFI system . . . then watch out

My experience with EFI is in boat engines . . . they run great, until they don't, then they are a bear to diagnose and fix, usually costing a bundle.

Regards, Ted
