Steep paved driveways 17% grade.

Just bought a house with two long steep driveways. The neighbor has been using his pickup plow to make a mess of my yard and asphalt, so I gotta get my own snow removal up and running.

The driveways are steep - almost 20% grade - long (each about 300 feet) and curvy. I need a blower because the plowing berms were unmanageable.

I'm looking at the Ariens Professional Hydro Track model to get up the nasty slopes. When I visited a local dealer yesterday (Ariens preferred dealer) the General Manager said he didn't know much about the tracked models. I asked why, and he said because they don't sell many. When I suggested they probably didn't sell because they dealer wasn't "selling" them, all I got was a glazed stare.

Can you guys please give me some tips on the pros and cons of wheels vs. tracks? Is Ariens a good choice - or is there a better brand for a grey-haired old guy like me?

Oh - yes - I've never had a snow blower before but my brute-force show shovel days are gone . . . along with my youth :-(
