Briggs 1550 vs 1650

Can anyone tell me what the differences are between the 1550 and the 1650 engines? I know they're both 342cc but one makes 16.5ft.lbs and one only 15.5ft.lbs. I assume it's just the carb or maybe a bigger jet but not sure.

Have you checked a parts list? In previous discussions along these lines, sometimes there are carb differences. Other times it can also be a different connecting rod (for different compression ratio), and/or camshaft.

And sometimes maybe it's just a sticker part number

Looks like emulsion tube and the jet are the same. Must be more internal stuff. Figured if it was just a jet or something I would switch it and get myself the extra power.
