Looking at a Ariens 26” pro for $900. Are they a good blower?

It's a great snowblower and depending on how old it is and the annual usage, $900 is a terrific price. It is a $2,200 machine. 11.5hp on a 26" width is very good. Jump on it, it won't last. Go with cash and offer him $800 but buy for $900.

Before I posted I Googled Ariens Pro 26" and it came up as $2,200. If it's 14 yrs old then it certainly was not $2,200 and $900 is too much for a 14 yr old machine that is dropping in price as spring approaches. IMO $700 may be more reasonable even less in summer. I say $700 because of the size of the engine then do you believe little use? and then how much is your time worth looking around and driving? The Tecumseh Snow King engine was stopped production around 2008 so that will help you date it, the DOM further. If so, then 1132le is right, maybe even less.

It doesn't look like my Tecumseh OHV from 2000-2001. Is it a Briggs?

I went down last night to buy a new Ariens 24” deluxe but not sure if I like how the shute is run with having to reach over machine to turn, and I don’t see a need in spending 1600 on the platinum
