Square vs Rounded - Discharge Chute Deflectors

I’m interested to know if the newer flat square cornered chute deflectors offer any improvement over the older rounded style.

My older rounded deflector seems to create a wider fan shaped stream than the newer square styled.

Would upgrading my deflector tighten up the steam of snow and increase throwing distance?

I already have an extra tall chute so it’s just the deflector I’m interested in. Pics attached.

I have both and have used both. I think the square rectangular is more directional and heavier, thicker, more concentrated, and the round does spread it out more. But I'm not switching.

I ask the same type of question about the deflectors a couple of years ago. I sort of think the "flat" style deflector would give more like a ricochet type throw where the "curved" style would give a sort of swooping kind of throw.
