It depends. My wife will freak about stuff like this, but like you I don't attach much credence to it.

But I still tease her - the day before our wedding 30+ years ago she was flipping TV channels for weather forecasts. One channel said "partly sunny" and a different one said "partly cloudy". So she insisted on watching the first channel because she wanted a sunny day.

that's funny

we got married in south lake tahoe and my wife won a $1600 jackpot at the slots and I won $400 so we quit and had a good time at a suite at Caesars. came home with close to most of it so we thought it was a good omen.

we had so much fun that we left the champaigne in the fridge along with some other stuff when we left but i did leave the maid a nice tip. there was a huge snowstorm also and I had to put chains on a rental car but it didnt bother me at all.

it's funny the things you remember.

My folks (and I think my Grandparents) bought a copy of the Farmers Almanac every year when I was growing up. This was before accurate weather and radar forecasting and Mom and Dad said it was accurate more times than it was wrong.
Part of it goes to the supposition that you believe in what they said. It's hard to believe that forecasts could be posted a year in advance and be accurate, but some people put a lot of faith in it.

All I know is we usually get lots of snow! Our snowblower is put away in the spring all ready to go for the fall. Just like all the summer machinery is put away in the fall ready for the spring.
