Can't believe what sells....

I just listed a clean Troybilt Storm for $250, all gone through and serviced.....I had 9 hits within a couple of hours, and think it will be gone this afternoon. I've got a 7 hp twin stick Ariens for the same money, no interest and a ST 824 for just a hair more, no interest. Both Ariens have new carb's, shoes, scrapers, belts, wheel bearings or bushings, impeller bearings and complete service......Maybe I should concentrate on MTD products...they are cheaper and easier to fix....

I sold a similar one 2 wk's ago for $350. Ir was a little cleaner, But I would have wanted to get at least $300, for that one around my area. I wish I had more, I was bombarded with messages.

This is why I go crazy trying to buy the Sno-Tek blowers when I find them cheap, easy as MTD to fix but easier to get to the carb than MTD and easy to sell, Have 2 I will test run once I get them out and list them. They sell fast.

Sno-Tek Modded, 15"X-Track tires (Now has same X-Track tires but 13"x4" for better fit), 254cc engine LED light and hand warmers.
Snapper 6/22 sold but not forgotten. Was my first.
Ariens ST1027LE workhorse and going strong.
New 2017 Ariens Deluxe completely rebuilt after losing a fight with a forklift.

what did you think of the build quality of the Troybilt? I tuned up my neighbor's machine, and I was not all that impressed with build and materials quality. The huge auger opening looked impressive, but it only had the 205-ish cc engine, and it seems to bog down a bit.

Just curious. And I agree that red and pretty seems to sell easy.

Myself, they are decent machines, easy to work on and parts are readily available. The negatives, thinner metal, and usually start rusting prematurely, to the point they turn to rust buckets.

They will do the job.....but the quality isn't much to brag about......by the time I get an Ariens, it's 30 years old...by the time I get an MTD product, it's 10 years old.
