Veterans Day

I would like to give honor to all Veterans who served our country past and present. My avatar gjves honor to my Dad who fought in WWII in 4 war campaigns including the Normandy D Day Invasion and Battle of the Bulge. He never spoke much about his service but this was fairly common for those soldiers from that generation. To all soldiers past and present - Thank you for your service!

My Dad was stationed at Pearl Harbor after the attack. He never spoke of what he saw during the war.
I was in the Peace Corps.

My dad started as a draftee in 1940 and was discharged as a Captain in 1945. He was with the 3d army from England in '43 to Czechoslovakia in '45. Like most of his generation he was very reluctant to discuss the war.

Attendance is increasing at the Rememberance Day ceremonies here. As the veterans age we all have to do our part to ensure their sacrifices are not forgotten. My son was talking about the Highway of Heros song from their Remembrance assemby at school.
