Yeah, I was aware of those being recalled years ago …… I bring that fact up anytime I see someone in this forum mention those plastic rims.

wish i had known last year. had one of them machines with plastic rims and it was part of the reason i sold if off as parts. i killed one of the rims and it would cost more to replace than the machine was worth to me.

MTD wasn't the only one to sell plastic rims....I had an Ariens 932027 with plastic rims but there's no recall notice on them (at least none that I've seen).

Yes I have one of them I am rebuilding and will be working out options to get rid of the plastic wheels, Will be a little while though as I am getting ready to move and that project has been puton a back burner for a while.

Sno-Tek Modded, 15"X-Track tires (Now has same X-Track tires but 13"x4" for better fit), 254cc engine LED light and hand warmers.
Snapper 6/22 sold but not forgotten. Was my first.
Ariens ST1027LE workhorse and going strong.
New 2017 Ariens Deluxe completely rebuilt after losing a fight with a forklift.
