Average Annual Snowfall

Do you think it would be helpful/interesting if members added average annual snowfall for their location on their User CP?

I think it would be useful information to have when recommending equipment size, make and model etc.

Different requirements for 30" vs 300" of annual snowfall.

Just a thought

Keep smiling, it makes people wonder what you're up to!

Around here in Maryland, near the Chesapeake bay, we only had two snows totaling 4 inches this winter. Both melted quickly.

You can Google -average annual snow fall for XXXXXXXX

This is what I got for Lake Tahoe:

https://www.tahoerealty.com/tahoe-tr...a/facts-stats/

Lake Tahoe gets an average of 215.4 inches of snowfall, or a little under 18 feet. Upper elevations can get between 300 and 500 inches per year.

Did this when I joined. We didn't get that this winter, maybe 40" at the most. I know it's not over but .....

Appears we get around 336 cm of snow all winter....

That's 11 feet normally. We had less than that this winter...

It appears to be relevant but I doubt it. Everyone in my town gets the same snowfall and I suspect 99% don't have a clue.

We supposedly get a tad over 26" a year. This year we got four, and you had to be quick to measure that before it melted. Come to think of it, we haven't had much snow at all the past three years or so, since I bought that nice new Ariens Deluxe 24.

If the "law of averages" does in fact average out, we're in for some doozy's (or is that doozies?) of snowstorms!

The deviation from the norm over the past few years has been so far off making that recorded value nearly meaningless. We've been mostly snow-less this season.

jmo, adding your location and ave snowfall helps the members who spend the time to help answer questions such as " can anyone offer a recommendation for a blower ?". etc etc.
