25 Skids

Told the wife to buy old cutting boards when she finds them. She's pretty good at listening. This board will make one set, double thickness for whatever blower I may be using.

I made some for my powershift a couple months ago.
Not too crazy about the color, but the yellow cutting board was free.
Some of you may recognize the material from an earlier mod on a different machine.

I thought I had a good tool for cutting the slots, but not really. I had to keep cooling blade or it would melt/stick. Note ice cube. I had to stop about half way through each cut and place blade on ice.

The old skids were a bit worn. OK. they were worn away completely. Scraper and bucket were still ok.

used to old skids to mount the HDPE.

I could have spent more time shaping them, but I just wanted something that worked, since the old ones were trashed. This powershift had left and right skid part numbers. Seems like they wanted $20 EACH. This will work and it cost me about an hour in labor. If they were only red...or black.

You do better and neater work than I do. I can say the faster the tool the harder HDPE is to work. And boy when it melts it's a bugger. So far I've probably made half dozen sets.
That's a really sweet'lookjng machine you've'got too.

Not a'tall, Todd. I retired for a reason. Don't need to get into any bidness. Just like doing stuff like that. I said before that I try to re-purpose, re-use and recycle whatever I can. I'm a little on the frugal side too. Comes from growing up a little poor. Also, I don't need the best looking, the fastest, the most powerful whatever. I just need to have things work well. Makes me a very happy camper, being content with what I have.
