Deflector Chute cable

I just purchased a new deflector chute cable for my Ariens Pro 26. AS soon as I saw a new part number repalcing the original I knew it could be trouble. The new cable where it hooks up to the side of the chute does not seem to have any way of locking it into the bracket. I just jammed it into the bracket and hope it stays. The old cable had little wings on it that popped out once it went into the bracket to lock it into place. Any suggestions or am I just missing something obvious. Thank you! Raining in New Hampshire
