DC Metro ara snow last night

Guys and Girls,

We had a nice powdery dry snow last night that left us with about 3 inches worth. This is the stuff that doesn't clog your chute and flies a mile.

The Ariens handled ours well, but then my neighbor's little old 22 inch 5 hp John Deere handled well too (he is at work where he and his wife have a small business-they work hard so I used theirs to do their drive). I think they will be pleased when they get home.

I am so very busy doing class work for a college class and cannot do the whole neighborhood. My one neighbor said she wants to buy a blower with her tax refund. I'm not an Ariens snob but what local (H-D, Sears or online) store's wares would you recommend? I think a basic Ariens or Sears model would work for her. Her drive (and walk) is only about 40-50 feet in length but it is wide. Any 22-24 inch snow-blower would work at a price below $900.00 lets say.

What model would you recommend? I will educate her on the way to keep it running such as not storing old, untreated gas in it and regular oil changes.

A lady friend of mine bought a 2014 Path Pro 208 with remote chute. She lives in Philly and has mostly sidewalks a small drive to do. She is 55 and can maneuver it easily. Any thing larger would have been too much for her to handle. She has been very happy with it.

My landlord has a SS Toro 2-stroke, Works like a champ. Do not underestimate the single stage blowers.
