Ariens 28" SHO Deluxe vs. 24" SHO Platinum

Hello folks! I'm new to the forum so I hope this hasn't been beaten to death already. I'm looking to buy my first (brand new) snowblower and have narrowed it down to the above two models.

My question is this: is worth giving up 4" of clearing space for the ergonomic controls, and of course bigger motor? I have a 30' driveway, typical 2-car. It snows 10-12' a year up here... maybe more.

Thanks in advance!

Smile Welcome Aboard!

for that amount of snow and that short a driveway I vote for the 24"

Thanks! I'm leaning heavily that way. Last year's model is $1400 right now from snowblowersdirect.com.

It seems like the better motor would make up for the loss in clearing width.

If that is all you have to do clearing wise, then I second the 24SHO. If you like to do neighbors driveways and walkways, depending upon how many you'd do, the 28 would be a better choice.
