Garage
New addition to the family, 522R (Parts?)

Model 28230 - - I saw it on Craigslist for $25 and just couldn't pass it up. Figure the tires alone are good for that. Pleasantly surprised the engine runs well. Appears to have been garaged but looks like it's had a hard life in the auger area as both sides had previously been welded and yet again they ran into something tearing the left auger apart. Wow, that welding job looks like someone went to Harbor Freight and bought the cheapest welder and it was their first time.

To be able to tear off the auger blades and not explode the gear box is amazing. It must be a Toro gear box and I guess the lack of useable skids added to the breakage. It has enough good parts to be well worth your investment. Another one to hide from the girlfriend.

Toro 8/24 (38080) 1989
Toro 421-QZE (38585) 2008 (Gone)
Toro 721-QZR (38741) 2015 (Hemi Predator Power)

Experience is something you don't get until just after you need it.

I think parts are interchangeable with the Toro 522, and these were built in late 2000's. Good machines, great find.
