Thanks Gary -- I'll measure the length. I know the current 7 HP is a single shaft, and I'm trying to keep the 71 as close to original as possible. Is your engine a white color (meaning shroud)? And, any chance the gas tank is included?

Hi Greg. Cannot tell you if it will work on your Ariens, you will have to measure your shaft and make sure your Ariens only requires a 1 shaft engine, as some have two. The shaft on my good engine for sale is 1" dia. and approx. 3.5" long. If yours is similar it will work. Let me know when you find out. Just P.M. me -Gary
