Souped up 1233 in the soup
I bought a 12 hp 33 inch Murray Noma blower used about 15 years ago. My drive way has about a 20% grade and is 70 feet long. It has electric heaters in the driveway and cannot be cleared without them on when it snows more than a certain amount. Even then sometimes in the past it struggles. So, over the years I've souped it up. I doubled the pulley on the auger as it kept burning them up. I upgraded the engine to a 15 HP Kohler. I changed the wheels and tires from chained to a little narrower and knobier. I did some welding on the axle so it doesn't move side ways when a shear pin breaks on a wheel, but unfortunately that change was done after the upper hex shaft snapped because of the chain snagging due the axle moving sideways. So I welded the hex shaft up, but isn't exactly straight. Does anyone know where I can get a replacement hex shaft?
