Motorized chute rotator fabrication-- question.

Hey guys I have a MTD with a 9hp Tecumseh engine with electric start and a working headlight.
I've fabiracted all the mechanicals wired to a power window motor but can't seem to get it to work. I think perhaps I'm missing something on the output of the stator. I was assuming it's 12 volts dc based on the bulb used in the headlight which is a 25w 12v light.

So what am I missing and how should I wire this up? I know there is a way to make it work but using an external SLA is out of the question. The motor is mounted under the fairing with the linkage routed to it from the spiral all of which I custom made. I could have bought the linkage and spiral but tha'ts no fun..:)

Thanks!

Joe

Most MTD stators produce AC, not DC.

You might get 12 v if you follow here how they do it for Led lights, just be careful you don't draw more than 3 amps from your stator including all that is connected to it.
