Hey everyone, I’m new to the group and I was just wondering if there were any sites that you prefer to use when looking for older Trac Drive parts. I know obviously ebay and amazon but wasn't sure what else was out there. Look forward to hearing the advice!
Thanks

Thanks for the link tabora. So are you telling me that Brute trac-drive parts are interchangeable with my Craftsman trac-drive? I honestly just want a good spare set or tracks. The ones I have show small signs of dry rot but I would hate to break one during a snow storm and be stuck looking for one then. Also wouldn't be a bad a idea to have a parts machine on hand incase I happen to need anything else that can't be ordered new.

If yours looks like this one: https://i.imgur.com/MWGGx67.jpg then the tracks should interchange. Easy to check, though:

Tracks have 3 sizing parameters, usually expressed in mm:

  • Width (entire width of track in mm)
  • Link Length (distance from inner lug to inner lug in mm)
  • # of Links (number of inner lugs)
If they match, you're good to go.

My own personal opinion is that in the case of snow removal.....you can't be without a way to get out of your driveway....period. Now when we are depending on snow removal machines....we all know that stuff breaks at the worst time. If you have a blower.....you should also have a back up blower....and maybe a back up to the back
up.....what are we talking here folks???? a $250 backup machine???? Even the new cool EFI and Honda's and heated grips and blah blah blah ...screw up at the worst possible moment...lets think about the used back up machine as insurance.....I've had the misfortune of having three blowers, a plow and tractor all F up on a bad storm and I had to shovel.....make sure your primary blower is serviced and reliable, then make sure your secondary blower is serviced and reliable....then cross your fingers the Snow Gods aren't trying to make an example of you

Thanks everyone, 2muchsnow thanks a lot but I live just south of the city and actually found one in Rhode Island for $40, it’ll be the perfect parts machine! Thanks again tabora! Cranman I hear yea for sure but this is just a little hobby I wanted to pick up. I love these trac drives, you can put them through anything, they’re little tanks! I just use it to make paths around my firewood. I plow the driveway...
