I posted earlier my yardman 31ah553g401 snowblower kept stalling under load. I found out it shut itself off because auger seems to be inoperable. No turning of auger at all. So just wondering where do I start. Hate to tear things apart if it could be a simple fix. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

well if it is stuck I hate to say it but must be taken apart, Could be many things and the worst case is the gearbox is jammed up, Repairable but kind of a bit of work to get that apart as you need to take the entire auger setup apart to get that apart if that's the issue. Although to be honest isn't really that bad as these are actually simple to do but if never done before might be a little intimidating. Do a search on you tube and the videos will walk you through it.

Sno-Tek Modded, 15"X-Track tires (Now has same X-Track tires but 13"x4" for better fit), 254cc engine LED light and hand warmers.
Snapper 6/22 sold but not forgotten. Was my first.
Ariens ST1027LE workhorse and going strong.
New 2017 Ariens Deluxe completely rebuilt after losing a fight with a forklift.

Put a piece of 2x4 in the discharge chute so it is resting on one of the impeller Blades, and Whack it with a Large Hammer to see if You can get it to move. Could be a Frozen Impeller Bearing, or a Rock Jamming the Impeller.

I did a post a few months ago on unfreezing augers. Do a search under my name for that. It includes many suggestions by others on this forum. One idea I never thought of was using a two-by-four and I think it's a terrific idea to get the leverage plus it's a soft piece of wood that won't hurt anything however I am concerned possibly maybe some gear damage might occur, I'm not sure.
